What are you thinking?

“For as he thinks within himself, so he is.”
– Proverbs 23:7

Every action, whether bad or good, begins as a simple thought. Coaches are busy! Most of us are so busy that we don’t take the time to stop and really think through our actions. Thinking is important! As coaches, we are always stressing the importance of “fundamentals” with our players, but often forget to practice what we preach. Thinking should be “fundamental” in all we do. Instead of taking control of our thoughts, all too often we let them wander all over the place, wherever they want to go. That can get us into big trouble. As you read the following words, give some real THOUGHT to what they are saying.

Be careful of your thoughts,
For your thoughts become your words.
Be careful of your words,
For your words become your actions.
Be careful of your actions,
For your actions become your habits.
Be careful of your habits,
For your habits become your character.
Be careful of your character,
For your character becomes your destiny!

And one other thought, let God be a part of your thinking process.
