Marriage

Give honor to marriage and remain faithful to one another in marriage…. – Hebrews 13:4a (New Living Translation) As coaches, we have a lot on our minds. Our lives are a never ending merry-go round of duties and responsibilities.

Be Wise

Fools think their own way is right, but the wise listen to others. – Proverbs 12:15 (New Living Translation) I was in my first year of coaching and I wanted to do things the right way. However, the junior varsity player was testing my patience.

Extra Strength

“….because I know this will lead to my deliverance through your prayers and help from the Spirit of Jesus Christ.” – Philippians 1:19 (Holman Christian Standard) At times everyone gets physically tired and mentally exhausted. It’s interesting however, that not all people react to this condition in the same way. Some stop and withdraw from everything while others hit another gear and keep moving forward.

The Gift

Do not neglect the gift that is in you…practice these things; be committed to them, so that your progress may be evident to all. – 1 Timothy 4:14-15 Can you remember why you decided to become a coach? Many of us grew up playing the games and developed a passion for sports.

Team Cohesion

For as the body is one and has many parts, and all the parts of that body, though many, are one body —so also is Christ. 1 Corinthians 12:12 (Holman Christian Standard) While talking with a group of coaches recently, someone made the statement that players today are better than ever, but teams are not. Though I didn’t want to admit it, I knew it was true.
