Extra Strength

January 6, 2014

“….because I know this will lead to my deliverance through your prayers
and help from the Spirit of Jesus Christ.”

– Philippians 1:19 (Holman Christian Standard)

At times everyone gets physically tired and mentally exhausted. It’s interesting however, that not all people react to this condition in the same way. Some stop and withdraw from everything while others hit another gear and keep moving forward. It seems as if some people have extra strength. If I had a headache, I might take a Tylenol, but if I had a bad headache, I’m looking for the Tylenol with “EXTRA STRENGTH”! Now some of you may be thinking like me and wondering where does that extra strength come from? For the record, Extra Strength Tylenol has 175 milligrams more acetaminophen per tablet than Regular Strength Tylenol. That extra strength helps knock out your fever, aches and pains faster so you can get on with life. Now what about being physically tired and mentally exhausted, where can we find extra strength for that?

The Apostle Paul says we can find an endless supply of EXTRA STRENGTH from the Spirit of Jesus Christ. When we have given everything we have and our resources are drained, that’s the moment Jesus Christ steps in. He has more strength and power to give than any of us can ever use. When we are weak, His strength lifts us up and gets us going again. If our hearts are open to Jesus, He can knock out all our spiritual fever, aches and pains. Do you need some relief? Call on Jesus and His unending supply of the Spirit.

Heavenly Father, thank You for always being there for me. Help me to understand that You are all I need. Teach me to depend on Your strength and not my own. Amen.
